Reseda High School, established in 1955, is located in the Reseda section of Los Angeles, California, United States. [1]

The current principal of Reseda High is Alfredo Tarin. The mascot of Reseda High is the Regent, a lion welding a crown and a scepter. The school currently is home to the Reseda High School Science Magnet HS and the Reseda Police Academy Magnet HS, in addition to Reseda High. [1]

The school, which serves grades 9 through 12, is a part of the Los Angeles Unified School District. [1]

Reseda High School has several programs. Among them are an active Humanities Academy, Multilingual Teachers Academy, Academic Decathlon Program, Navy Jr. ROTC, Urban Studies program, Health Occupations Students of America chapter, Science Bowl, excellent AP Calculus courses, and the largest yearly High School Science Fair in the San Fernando Valley. [1]

Reseda was used as the high school in the television series The Shield and in an episode of Commander in Chief, and also several episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Many locations of the campus appeared in the feature film Grosse Pointe Blank. [1]

On Sunday, May 14, 2006, Big Sunday, hundreds of volunteers, organized by the office of Mayor Antonio R. Villaraigosa, gathered at Reseda High and other locations around the city to help beautify communities, and begin the Mayor's program of adding one million trees to the city of Los Angeles. [1]

Reseda High School celebrated its 50th anniversary graduation with one of the highest valedictorian and honors rates in school history. [1]

Reseda High School also has one of the few robotics teams in the San Fernando Valley. [1]
