It became a full-pledged holding company in 1984 when it established a joint venture Neptune Agencies, Pte., Ltd. of Singapore and organized Orient Maritime & Mgt. Inc. In the same year, it acquired the ownership of Overseas Services Agencies, Inc. which was the Phil. General Agent of NOL, a large shipping company in Singapore. In 1984, RMI entered a joint venture with K Line of Japan and established Transmar Agencies, Inc, to handle the sales and operations of K Line vessels. From here, RMI started diversifying into other lines of business such as travel, restaurant, trading , agri-business and file management. In the early part of 2000, RMI, in order to more innovative, became interested in engaging into logistics and procurement services through the internet.
