Chiang Mai University (CMU) is a public research university in northern Thailand founded in 1964 with a strong emphasis on engineering, scientific, and agriculture. Its instructional mission includes undergraduate, graduate, professional and continuing education offered through resident instruction. Since opening in 1964, with the three founding Faculties of Science, Social Sciences, and Humanities, CMU have continued to augment our structure and organization in terms of premises, the range of disciplines offered, and student enrollment. Today, CMU has seventeen Faculties with 107 individual departments, and a Graduate School.
