Palayan City

Palayan City (Ilokano: Ciudad ti Palayan; Kapampangan: Lakanbalen ning Palayan/Siudad ning Palayan; Pangasinan: Siyudad na Palayan/Lunsod na Palayan; Filipino: Lungsod ng Palayan) is a 5th class city in the province of Nueva Ecija, Philippines. It is the capital city of Nueva Ecija. According to the latest census, it has a population of 33,506 people in 6,279 households.

History

Palayan City was created in 1965 by the congress of the Philippines and one of the 6 cities of the Philippines whose creation was specifically planned (the other five cities are Manila, Baguio, Quezon City, Trece Martires City, and the Island Garden City of Samal). Palayan City is located in the heart of Nueva Ecija.
