In 1924, the District Superintendent Rev Lloyd Sullivan began the Geylang Methodist Girls' School with Mrs Chan Han Kiat and Miss Walker who were members of the Methodist Church. With a pupil enrolment of 27 (all girls), the school had no premises. So the sanctuary of Geylang Chinese Methodist Church was used as classrooms during the week. The school stopped using the church premises when the enrolment increased and 4 new classrooms were built next to the church. [1]
