    • Location. The Allison House Inn is located 23 miles northwest of Tallahassee, Fla., in the city of Quincy, Fla. This bed and breakfast is in the Quincy Historic District, a 26-block area recognized by the National Register of Historic Places. One block away is scenic State Road 12, designated Gadsden County's North Florida Art Trail. The Apalachicola National Forest and Alfred B. Maclay State Gardens are 20 miles away.
    • Features. Built in 1843, this historic Georgian style home is decorated in the style of an English country manor. The inn offers two parlors, an ever-present cookie jar and a decantur of sherry on the sideboard in the dining room. Grounds at the inn feature a picnic area in the midst of azaleas, camellias, bamboo, and fig, pear, pecan, almond and magnolia trees. Complimentary European breakfasts with a variety of homemade baked goods, fresh juices, fruit and the Allison House granola are provided for weekday guests. Weekend guests are offered complimentary full breakfasts, featuring stuffed French toast, crepes, baked eggs and quiche.
    • Guestrooms. Guestrooms are uniquely decorated with antiques from the British isles. All rooms offer private bathrooms. Air conditioning, cable television with premium channels and complimentary wireless Internet access are provided. The Garden Room features a floral decor, a white cast-iron canopy bed and an antique armoire.
    • Expert Tip. The Allison House Inn was originally the home of General A.K. Allison, a soldier and lawyer who was the the Speaker of the House in 1852 and President of the Senate from 1864-1868. The original house was built in the classic revival style, but was significantly altered in 1925 by raising the house and creating a new ground floor.
