Wheaton High School is a ninth through twelfth grade high school located in the Wheaton/Glenmont section of Silver Spring, an unincorporated section of Montgomery County, Maryland, United States. Wheaton is a part of the Montgomery County Public School system. The school is named for the Wheaton area, which is in turn named for Frank Wheaton (1833-1903), a career officer in the Union Army who rose to the rank of major-general while serving before, during, and after the Civil War. Wheaton High School has three main academies of education: The Academy of Biosciences and Medicine, the Academy of Engineering, the Academy of Information Technology, and the Acadaemy of International Global and Cultural Studies. ^[1]
