Originally, the high school was a single building on the northeast edge of town. Later construction added buildings at that location, and, in the 1960s, a separate campus on the southwest edge of town. In 1975 the original school building was demolished as the east campus complex of new buildings expanded. The two campuses functioned as separate locations within a single school, with most ninth and tenth grade classes on the west campus, and eleventh and twelfth grade classes on the east campus. Buses ferried students between campuses. Beginning in the late 1980s, both campuses had freshmen through seniors. Finally, the two campuses were split into separate schools. <ref name=wikipedia>[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hanford_Joint_Union_High_School_District] Wikipedia.ORG. Accessed March 2008.</ref>

Hanford West High School (mascot: Huskies) graduated its first class in 2002. Hanford West services students from the community of Armona, as well as Hanford. [1]
