The University was founded in 1919 as St. Joseph’s College for Women. In 1939 it was renamed Siena Heights College and in 1969 became coeducational. In 1975 the University initiated the first degree-completion program for working adults in Southfield, Michigan. In 1998 Siena Heights was renamed a University. The University is also affiliated with St. Joseph Academy for Children and the Montessori Children’s House. Siena Heights offers a complete spectrum of Athletics, Music, Theater and Art to the entire university community.[1]
