Mar Ivanios College is one of the premier colleges situated in Trivandrum, the capital city of Kerala. The college is the dream child of the Late Archbishop Mar Ivanios (The founder of Malankara Catholic Church). The College was the cardle for the development and growth of many reputed people of the state and our nation. The college is located in a picturesque setting on a small hilltop with a sprawling campus area of hundreds of acres in Bethany Hills, Nalanchira, Thiruvananthapuram. [1]
The College was founded in 1949 as an affiliated college of the then University of Travancore, later on under the Kerala University. [1]
Acclaimed as a leading Centre of Excellence in Higher Education, Mar Ivanios College offers 10 Degree courses and 7 Post Graduate Courses. The college offers Degree courses in Economics, English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Commerce and Postgraduate Courses in English, Commerce, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Zoology. The Departments of Zoology, Chemistry and Physics are recognized research centres. It also offers place and facility for an IGNOU centre and an IDE centre. The motto of the college: ‘Veritas Vos Liberabit’ which means ‘Truth shall Liberate You’. [1]
The alumni association AMICOS (Association of Mar Ivanios College Old Students) which has chapters in different countries is a unique feature of this Institution. [1]
