- Established in 1956, the Singapore American School (SAS) is an independent, non-profit, co-educational day school offering an American based curriculum for preschool through grade 12 expatriate students. ** In August of 1996, the Singapore American School moved into a new campus located on thirty-seven acres in the Woodlands area of Singapore. In 2005, a three year expansion and renovation project was completed. Including a new state-of-the-art High School and Early Childhood Center (opened in 2004) the newly renovated and expanded campus includes additional classrooms and facilities to support an enrollment of up to 3800 students. The Singapore American School is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
- The campus includes four distinct divisions: Primary School (preschool through grade two), Intermediate School (grades three through five), Middle School (grades six through eight) and High School (grades nine through twelve).A separate and purpose built Early Childhood Center (ECC) provides a special learning environment for preschool and pre-kindergarten (age 3 and 4) students.
- Over 50 different nationalities are represented among the 3800 students attending SAS. Approximately 60% of the students hold American passports.
