    • Location. The John Rutledge House Inn is located in Charleston, S.C., one block from historic Four Corners of Law at Broad and Meeting streets. Set within a neighborhood of antebellum homes, this inn is one-half mile from The Old Exchange & Provost Dungeon, The City Market, the Confederate Museum, and Waterfront Park. The Citadel Military College of South Carolina is less than three miles from the inn.
    • Features. Built in 1763 and named after its original owner, the John Rutledge House Inn is a blend of Renaissance classical and Southern architectural styles. Additions over the centuries have embellished the original structure with wrought-iron balconies, parquet floors, Gothic windows, and Italian marble fireplace mantels. The inn features high ceilings with plaster crown molding, tapestry rugs and Colonial-style furnishings. In addition to serving complimentary breakfasts, the inn hosts complimentary afternoon tea, wine and brandy receptions. Business services include meetings rooms, banquet rooms, and a courtyard that can accommodate up to 100 guests. Concierge staff can assist guests with excursions to area attractions, such as private tours of Savannah's historical sites and distinctive neighborhood squares.
    • Guestrooms. The John Rutledge House Inn contains 19 individually decorated guestrooms furnished with 18th and 19th century antiques and reproductions. Select units feature fireplaces and en suite jetted tubs. All accommodations offer four-poster beds with Tempur-Pedic mattresses and private bathrooms with bathrobes. Other amenities include mini fridges and cable television. Complimentary wireless Internet access is available.
    • Expert Tip. The inn's original owner and namesake was a member of the Continental Congress and one of 55 signers of the U.S. Constitution. John Rutledge later served as governor of South Carolina and as U.S. Supreme Court chief justice.
