Institute of Road and Transport Technology is an engineering institution located in Erode, India, run by the Transport Department of the Government of Tamilnadu and is listed under category II colleges by the Directorate of Technical Education. The current principal is Dr. B. Viswanathan. [1]

The Institute Of Road and Transport Technology (IRTT) was established in the year 1984 as Automobile research oriented Engineering College. It is run by All Transport Corporations of Government of TamilNadu. The Institute is located in a sprawling lush green campus of 350 acres. It provides a congenial atmosphere for Technical Education. It is 15 km from Erode Railway Station and Half a km from the NH-47 between Bhavani and Chithode. [1]

The college is affiliated with Anna University, Coimbatore. [1]

The Institute offers 4 year Undergraduate Engineering Courses in Automobile, Civil, CSE,ECE,EEE, IT and Mechanical Engineering, as well as 2 year Postgraduate ME (structural engineering and Thermal Engineering) and 3 year Postgraduate MCA course. [1]

This college is located above a hill which give us a pleasant place to study. Fully filled with trees and other colourful plants. Those who studied here, got the good remuneration in their life. Lot of companies are visiting for placement. [1]
