York, known as the White Rose City (after the Wars of the Roses), is a city located in South Central Pennsylvania. The population was 40,862 at the 2000 census. York is the county seat of York County, and is located at 39�5800N 76�4500W 39.966667�N 76.75�W 39.966667 -76.75.[1]
