California High School (commonly referred to as Cal High) is a public school located in San Ramon, California, a suburb of San Francisco, Oakland, and Silicon Valley. Its mascot is a Grizzly Bear. The school's newspaper is The Californian which is published monthly. California High School's mission statement is:

• The mission of California High School is to develop student potential, self-worth, and responsibility. To achieve this mission, the staff promotes a positive environment and a diverse educational program of excellence, which includes academics, arts vocational education, extracurricular activities, and life skills.^[1]

Cal High operates on a block schedule, unlike other schools in the district, which means classes are 100 minutes long, 90 minutes on Mondays, and meet every other day with 35 minutes of SSR. ^[1]

Cal High's primary sports rival is Monte Vista High School. Another major rival is San Ramon Valley High School Wolves. Both are located in the nearby town of Danville. Cal High offers various clubs that participate in extra-curricular activities, or raise awareness of certain groups. ^[1]
