| - | ** Looking at the results of the racing over the last year, its hard to believe that Maria has never won this event. This year, she took a clean sweep of the event, winning every race with plenty of time to spare. The rest of the field was composed of newer Hobie sailors and students, who took a lot of coaching during the event, from generally more experienced crew. It was gratifying to see them out there though, Alannah Symes sailing with her dad, achel Van Klaveren also racing with her father, Our new member Denize "The Turk" Sasal coaching, Karla Kramer and Peter Capotosto who came second, and Khanna Verzosa and Joe Hagedorn, who placed third. The best part, was that inspite of the rain, and the occasional gusty conditions which raised veryones adrenaline levels, everybody had a great time, and came home with lots of lessons and stories to tell. And thats what sailing is all about.
