IIRR is an international action research and training institute with more than 80 years of grassroots field experience in rural community development in Africa, Asia and Latin America. The Institute mobilizes community action to achieve lasting solutions for addressing root causes and consequences of poverty through: working in partnership with rural communities and their stakeholders to enable the poor and disadvantaged to effect meaningful change in their lives; training development practitioners around the world based on practical field experience; and engaging in action research, publishing, and sharing lessons of what works to facilitate learning among practitioners and policy-makers.
