Created in March 1976 to lead the Philippines' quest for energy self-sufficiency, the mission of Energy Development Corporation (formerly Philippine National Oil Company - Energy Development Corporation) is to explore and develop indigenous energy sources, focusing on those that are clean and renewable to ensure the preservation of the country's environment.
