Streetsville Secondary School is a high school in the Peel District School Board located in Mississauga, Ontario. [1]

The school has just over 1000 students, 250 of which are bused in. [1]

Opened in 1958, Streetsville was built by Craig, Madju, Abram & Ingleson. The Peel Board does not know the total construction costs, or architect(s). [1]

The school features a main floor and a second floor on its north side. It features two gymnasiums, one large in size, and the second being half the size of the first. When the school first opened, the smaller gym was originally intended to be a swimming pool. The school has one library, which was recently renovated, and expanded and an updated cafeteria. It features several unusual classes including Grade 11 and 12 Photographic Arts, the unusual aspect being the up-to-date darkroom available for student use, one of the last remaining in the Peel school system. [1]

Up until Summer of 2005, the school had an overwhelming 13 portables. However, in 2005, Mississauga Secondary School opened in the area and about half of the grade 9 and 10 students attending Streetsville had to switch schools due to boundary changes. This dropped the overall attendance by about 500, and all but 1 of the portables have been removed (not including the permanent portapac attached to the building); of course this was excellent timing given that the board had just spent the previous summer moving all the portable cabling to underground feeds and installing a concrete bunker to bring the lines into. The sole portable remaining is used as an extension of the school's drama room. In 2006 the last remaining portable was removed due to budget cuts; the bunker still remains, alone atop the hill, an ominous warning that one day portables will return. [1]
