Thomas A. Edison High School is a high school in Alexandria, Virginia, administered by Fairfax County Public Schools. In the 1990s, the school's debate and forensics teams gained widespread recognition. The Policy Debate Team won the Harvard Tournament (1995), the Glenbrooks (1995), and two Virginia High School State Tournaments (1995 and 1996). Its academic team has appeared on the local television quizbowl game show "It's Academic". [1]
Edison's graduates have typically moved on to attend local and state colleges and universities, such as Virginia Tech, the University of Virginia, George Mason University, Virginia Commonwealth University, West Virginia University and Northern Virginia Community College. The Theatre Program at Edison High School has recently received an invitation to perform their rendition of the popular Disney musical High School Musical at Disney World in Florida. [1]
