Southeastern University is a private , non-profit undergraduate and graduate institution of higher education located in southwestern url= |title= SEU Press Releases|accessdate= May 22|accessyear= 2007|publisher= Southeastern University}} Its current president is Elaine Ryan, Ph.D., who replaced Charlene Drew Jarvis on March 31, 2009 after 13 years of service to the flailing school. It has degree programs in Criminal Justice, Child Development, Public Administration, Business Management, Accounting, Finance, Liberal Arts|Liberal Studies , Computer Science, and Allied Health, a program initiated in 2006 at Greater Southeast Community Hospital. There are also certificate programs in entrepreneurship, property management, real estate, Web development, and others. It is a member of the Consortium of Universities of the Metropolitan Washington Area.Southeastern University has a total enrollment of about 867.
