Siddaganga Institute of Technology is located at Tumkur, Karnataka State, India. It is popularly known as SIT-Tumkur. Tumkur is a District headquarters located about 70 km from Bengaluru (Bangalore), the capital of Karnataka. <ref name=wikipedia>[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sidhaganga_Institute_of_Technology] Wikipedia.ORG. Sri ShivaKumara Swamiji, Religious head of Siddaganga Mutt is the visionary behind SIT-Tumkur. The college was started in 1963 under his guidance. <ref name="wikipedia"/>

SIT-Tumkur offers 4 year Bachelors degree in various branches of engineering, a four semester Masters and PhD in selected branches of engineering. SIT-Tumkur is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) and follows the syllabus set by VTU. The degrees are awarded from VTU. <ref name="wikipedia"/>

Considering it is a private engineering college, one will be impressed with the facilities it has to offer. The labs are well equipped, there is an impressive Array of eminent professors and teaching staff, one entire block is dedicated for library, an attractive campus with good dormitories make it a good institute for technical education. <ref name="wikipedia"/>
