Woodbridge Senior High School is a public secondary school located in unincorporated Prince William County, Virginia, United States. [1]

The school opened in 1964, with classes originally held at 2201 York Drive (now Woodbridge Middle School). Classes moved to the current building (3001 Old Bridge Road) in 1974. The first class to graduate having attended the full four years at the current building was the class of 1978. [1]

Among others, the school runs the Center of Fine and Performing Arts, which includes concentrations in creative writing, dance, vocal music, instrumental music, visual arts, and theater. It is also known for its men's lacrosse team (2005 Cardinal District Lacrosse Champions and state final four), hockey team (the 2005-06 Virginia State Champions), crew team (Women's Junior double placed 2nd, and women's senior four+ placed 4th at 2006 Nationals & had several boats place at 2006 NOVA's) in 2007 the Women's double took first place at Nationals and brought the cup home to WSHS, and their talented football team (made the AAA Division 6 Virginia state playoffs four years in a row; 2004-2007). The boys swim team was named district champion in 2005, 2006, and 2007. Also, the girls varsity soccer team went undefeated (14-0-1)with 8 shut-outs, 74 goals for and 9 goals against; winning the 2007 cardinal district championship, and gaining an automatic spot on the Northwest Region Tournament for the first time since 2002. The girls then continued their undefeated streak through the regional championship, blazing through Osbourn Senior, Mountain View and Colonial Forge increasing the goals scored count to 79 and their shutouts to 11; winning the 2007 Northwest Regional Championship and gaining a spot in the 2007 state championship. In May of 2007, Newsweek Magazine ranked Woodbridge 864th on its annual list of "Best High Schools in America." [1]

Woodbridge High School is also home to the national-award-winning literary arts magazine, Eddas, named for the collection of Norse poetry. [1]
