UCC&BM stands for University college of Commerce and Business Management, is the name of the college in Osmania University Campus offering management programmes. [1]
Osmania University (also known as OU in short) is a public university situated in the city of Hyderabad in Andhra Pradesh, India. It is one of the oldest modern universities in India. It is one of the largest university systems in the subcontinent with over 300,000 students on its various campuses and affiliated colleges. It is particularly well known for its Engineering and Technology departments. Its faculty of management is considered as one of the best management institutions under the university system. [1]
The Department of Business Management is one of the earliest business management schools in India, established way back in 1962. It has completed more than 4 decades of dedicated service in the area of management education training and research. [1]
A separate, independent faculty of management was carved out to empower and drive the business management faculty to innovate and pursue several academic initiatives in the direction of designing and delivering high value academic research programs in the latest and emerging areas of management. Only 80 students from over 200,000 applicants make it into this MBA program through a competitive exam. [1]
Ever since its establishment, the institution has registered speedy progress and it now offers various programs for different cadres, In addition to the programs department has collaborated with various prestigious organizations through a Memorandum of Understanding [MOU], to offer tailor-made programs. Today, it has a rare distinction of providing academic leadership and guidance to over 100 colleges affiliated to Osmania University offering MBA program and has taken the responsibility of ensuring the quality of output. Today the students are drawn from multi–ethnic backgrounds and with over 35% of the students having a foreign background, the institute, can thus proudly claim that it represents in all senses a true “global” environment. The institute has a state of the art infrastructure to facilitate effective learning and faculty, with acclaimed and experienced academicians, provide theoretical and practical knowledge to the students.
