DPS Bhilai is one of the most esteemed schools in Bhilai. It is located in Bhilai, a city in Chattisgarh famous for its steel plant. It has two buildings-One is Risali Sector for classes 6-12 and the second one is Maroda Sector for classes Nur.-5. Founded on 20 August 1985, the school has made significant contributions in various fields. Students from this particular branch have cleared many prestigious exams like IITs , All India PMT .The founder Principal of this school was Mr. M. I Hussain, the present Principal of DPS Mathura Road Delhi.The present principal of the school is Mr. M.P Yadav. The credit of opening this school goes to the then M. D of Bhilai Steel Plant, Mr. Sangameshwaran who was highly impressed with the DPS system. It has its many students at high levels all over the world. Master Shashank Shekhar Diwedi was the topper of IIT-JEE in 2003, currently he is pursuing his masters at Masachussets Institute of Technology.Master Ravi Shankar Saxena, an ex-student of the school got final admission offers from all the 6 IIMs in the country. He is currently studying at IIM-Ahmedabad. Master Shariq Rizvi, who got an AIR 5 In IIT-JEE, passed out from the esteemed IIT-Bombay, and is currently working with Google, in Beverly Hills, California. In recent years, the school infrastructure has got a new dimension with its well equipped indoor swimming pool which has hosted several zonal tournaments,there is also the newly built boys and girls hostel.It has got an excellent faculty for proper guidance of students.
