A Belgian Priest, Rev. Joseph Van Runckelen – a member of the Congregation of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (CICM) Missionaries, who became parish priest of St. Andrew Parish of Parañaque in October 1915, founded St Andrew’s School on June 27, 1917. Pare Jose or Pari Jose, as he was called, established the school with the help of his colleagues: Rev. Adolphe Van Hecke, Rev. Jose Tahon, Rev. Godofredo Aldenhuyzen, and Rev. George Vromant. The funds came from the people of Belgium who donated and helped in putting up the co-educated elementary school that was first housed in the building located at the present site of St. Paul College of Parañaque. It was in 1938 when it transferred to the Parañaque Convent building that is still the present site. In 1932, Fr. Joseph and Mrs. Gloria Aspillera-Quintos founded the high school Department. [1]

After the directorship of Rev. Fr. Runckelen, Rev. Fr. Antonio Van Overveld took over from 1934 to 1937. Rev. Fr. Adolf Cansse became the school director from 1937 to 1952. He made major expansions to the school such as the new gymnasium and more classrooms. When World War II broke out, the school re-opened and ended its co-educational status and was exclusively for boys. Rev. Fr. Louis Thys, CICM and parish priest of St. Andrew Parish served as the school director from 1952-1977. He was responsible for the reconstruction of some areas of the school. Such was the construction of a three-story building containing faculties, typing rooms, and an audiovisual room. Rev. Fr. Paul Foulon, CICM another Belgian Priest who was the high school principal from 1964-1966 became the school director from 1977-1991. [1]

The year 1994 marked the turnover of the parish's and school's orders from religious to diocesan, making Rev. Fr. Francis Gevaert, the last CICM director since 1991 end his directorship in 1993. . Fr. Romerico A. Prieto was the first diocesan parish priest of the parish to have assumed the directorship of SAS followed by Msgr. Manuel Sebastian who took over the same position from 1995 to 1996. Then in 1996, Msgr. Bayani G. Valenzuela became the parish priest of the parish and director of the school. It was also during the same year when SAS brought back its co-educational status. It started in the Pre-school Department in SY 1999-2000; Grade School Department in 2000-2001; and High School Department in SY 2006-2007. [1]

The year 2003 marked the birth of the Diocese of Parañaque with Bishop Jesse E. Mercado, D.D. as its first Bishop. It was during SY 2004-2005 that SAS welcomed its new director and parish priest Msgr. Manuel G. Gabriel. In his directorship, the old gymnasium was demolished and was constructed with a new building including faculty rooms, classrooms, and a new gymnasium at the uppermost part of the school building.
