- Location. The Hilton Checkers is a European-style boutique hotel located in downtown Los Angeles, Calif., in the city's business and financial district. The hotel, whose historic building dates back to the 1920s, stands two blocks from the Staples Center and three blocks from the Mark Taper Auditorium, Walt Disney Concert Hall. Los Angeles Convention Center sits four blocks from this 15-story hotel while Ahmanson Theater is five blocks away.
