- Location. Hotel Monaco - A Kimpton Hotel is located two blocks from Union Square in San Francisco, Calif. The hotel stands within one-half mile of Hallidie Plaza and the San Francisco Shopping Centre. Civic Center Plaza and Moscone Convention Center are less than one mile away. The hotel is just over one mile from Embarcadero and the San Francisco Bay. Fisherman's Wharf and Aquatic Park are within two miles. The hotel is less than five miles from the Golden Gate Bridge.

Within a 1910 Beaux-Arts building, the lobby features columns, an expanded staircase with wrought-iron railings and "Tree of Life" sculpture by renowned Bay Area artist Albert Guibara.
