Overview
- Location.Tranquility Bay Beach House Resort is located in the Florida Keys in Marathon, Fla., overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. The Marathon Airport, one of only two airports in the Keys, is less than a mile away. The Seven Mile Bridge is two miles away.
- Features. This resort is set on 12 landscaped acres overlooking a private, white-sand beach stretching along 1,000 feet of the Gulf of Mexico. The Butterfly Café offers tropically inspired cuisine and a seasonal beachfront tiki bar serves light fare and tropical drinks. Personal watercraft and kayak rentals are available on the beach. Complimentary wireless Internet access is provided throughout the resort. Concierge services are available for a fee, including arrangements for sport fishing, scuba diving, and snorkeling excursions. For a fee, Keys Kids Adventure Camps provide programs for children ages 5-15, and scheduled activities for children ages 3-12. The resort features lagoon-style and adults-only pools. A putting green designed by Jack Nicklaus is also on site. Spa services are available in guest houses, and a 24-hour fitness center offers cardio machines and free weights. The resort is a smoke-free property.
- Guestrooms. Tranquility Bay Beach House Resort offers 87 privately-owned vacation homes featuring balconies with views of the lagoon-style pool or the Gulf of Mexico. Units offer two bathrooms and separate living and dining areas. Kitchens feature refrigerators, stoves, microwave ovens and coffeemakers. Accommodations include cable television with premium movie channels and DVD players. Complimentary high-speed wired and wireless Internet access is provided. Full-service housekeeping is provided every fourth day, but trash removal and fresh towels are offered daily. Complimentary newspapers are delivered to the unit each day.
- Expert Tip. The Dolphin Research Center, one block from the resort, allows visitors to swim and play with dolphins in a natural saltwater pool. Reservations should be made a least a few weeks in advance.
