Nestled between the Little Manatee River, one-half mile away, and Old Tampa Bay in Ruskin, Fla., the Southern Comfort Bed & Breakfast offers accommodations in the southernmost community of the South Shore area. Seafood, family-style and culturally diverse restaurants are less than two miles away. Boating, fishing and kayaking are available on the Little Manatee River and Old Tampa Bay. Tampa, Fla. is 12 miles from the property.This ranch-style home, built in 1959, is surrounded by English gardens and moss-draped oak trees. Complimentary full breakfasts are served each morning in the breakfast room or in the guestrooms. A Victorian Royal Tea is offered on Thursdays by reservation for a fee, featuring homemade scones and Devonshire cream. Complimentary wireless Internet access is available throughout the home. The recreation room includes a full kitchen, fireplace and table tennis. This bed and breakfast offers a screened-in pool surrounded by a brick patio, an eight-person hot tub in a fitness room and a lighted tennis court. The Pelican Landing and The Blue Heron guestrooms share a bathroom. The Pelican Landing room features an antique mahogany four-poster bed and French doors that open onto the hot tub and the fitness room. The Blue Heron room offers a featherbed. Cable television is provided. The rooms overlook the enclosed pool or the tennis court.
