- Location. The Royal Sonesta Hotel, located on world-famous Bourbon Street in New Orleans, La., exudes European style and Southern charm. The seven-story Royal Sonesta Hotel is built in traditional French Quarter style, with gabled windows, French doors and wrought-iron balconies where a passing parade of world travelers along Bourbon Street can be viewed, especially during Mardi Gras. Desires Seafood and Oyster Bar opens directly onto Bourbon Street and emits an Old French diner vibe. Mystic Lobby Lounge hosts live jazz Thursday through Saturday.
