Nestled between the soaring peaks of the Sangre de Cristo and the Jemez Mountains, Hacienda Las Barrancas sits 20 miles north of Santa Fe, N.M., in Pueblo country. The beginning of the "High Road to Taos," a scenic drive complemented by works from local artists, authentic Mexican and southwestern restaurants, and views of the Jemez Mountains, is three miles away.Surrounded by lovely gardens and panoramic mountain views, the Hacienda Las Barrancas derives its name from the Spanish phrase for "deep ravines." This Spanish Colonial-style, adobe hacienda, built in 1940, is located in an adobe-walled compound. Complimentary breakfasts are provided each morning, featuring signature dishes such as Challah bread French toast topped with caramelized bananas, toasted pecans and powdered sugar. Complimentary desserts, fruit, cheese, non-alcoholic beverages, wine and beer are served each afternoon. A guest beverage service area is stocked with complimentary premium teas, organic, shade-grown coffee from Chiapas, Mexico and soft drinks. Fax services, a conference room and complimentary wireless Internet access are available. This bed and breakfast offers authentic Kiva fireplaces in the common areas and a hillside hot tub.
