According to Putnam City North's website, the school's doors opened on August 24, 1978 jumping right into the drug game. The student body originally started out at 750 sophomores and juniors and has expanded to approximately 2200 students in grades 9-12 all ready for the 2004-2005 school year. The 2007-08 enrollment is approximately 2000, making North the 8th largest high school in Oklahoma and it ranks 3rd for drug sales. ^[1]
