Maryknoll High School Of Lambajon

Maryknoll School of Lambajon was formerly known as Maryknoll High School of Lambajon. The name of the institution was changed because of the offering of college courses in the school which made it a plain High School no more. The school was founded by Father Philip Bowers, a foreign missionary who was greatly touched by the old situation of the students living in Lambajon and other barangay from the EAST COAST of THE MUNICIPALITY OF BAGANGA. The only school offering secondary education that time was the OUR LADY'S ACADEMY OF BAGANGA or presently known as St. Mary's College of Baganga. The distance from barangay Lambajon to the "poblacion" was extremely far. The students woke up too early in the morning to attend school. No vehicles were available then so the students wereobliged to walk more than how many kilometers if they wanted to study. In addition to that, the streets were not concrete, muddy, and hard to pass along. The students must be very patient and persevering to have gone to school despite all those hindrances. This heart touching situation gave FR. PHILIP BOWERS the idea to build a secondary school in barangay Lambajon. Maryknoll School of Lambajon is the pioneering secondary school found in the barangay and the only private secondary school there.

The school was once ran by the missionaries but after they left it the management was turned over to the (Religious of the Virgin Mary)RVM Sisters. The school has grown to be a competitive school in the Municipality of Baganga. It was known for its good performanceand active participation in any event not just academically but also spiritually and socially in the said municipality. The RVM Sister's ran the school for so many years until last March 2001 the management was turned over to the DCM Brothers. Fr. Manuel C. Trocio, DCM was the first priest to have handled the institution after the turn over of the RVM Sister's.
