Buenavista National High School is the only public secondary school in the municipality of Magdalena, Laguna since it was founded. The location of this school was also in the location of the Buenavista- Cigaras Elementary School ( Dean Conrado Benitez Elementary School earlier) beside the SunRipe Company. after a year, the location of the school was became separated after a year and transferred at the neighbor barangay at Barangay Cigaras, Magdalena, Laguna. some people request to change the name of the school from Buenavista National High School into Cigaras National High School. But until now the name of the school was still not change due to "pagkasikat". This school if you can visit at this time there are many change happen since the year 2005 comes the school accelerate its population from little to Greater number. Since 2010 the school has now annex located at barangay Poblacion, Magdalena, Laguna. This Annex campus was build through the good work and Best Public servant of the town Folk the son of the former mayor David Aventurado SR. his son came from military a former Colonel ex- Mayor. Hon. David O. Aventurado Jr. now the school also have their progressive campus that helps all the youth of the town to be educated without any payments. the school also provide the complete education from first year to fourth year. then the school also helps the adults who didn't finish their education called BPOSA (Balik Paaralan Out of School Adult). the formal education gives student a livelihood education. last 2008 the school won the third place as Rolando Ofilas make a basket made of Rattan. presently the school has a very nice and clean canteen operated by Nora Taratara. the school principal was still mrs. Magadia.
