The American School of Kuwait was founded in 1964, making it the longest established American school in Kuwait. Throughout it's history, it has had numerous campuses located throughout Kuwait. Until the mid-1990s, it was separated into two distinct campuses; the elementary and middle schools were both housed in one building in Salwa, while the high school was located in Surra. In the summer of 1994, all 3 schools relocated to Hawalli, the current location, and all 3 schools now share the same campus. A.S.K. is a K-12 institution which also includes a pre-school (referred to as the Child Development Center). The entire school is housed in a large campus in the Hawalli area of Kuwait, and is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. A.S.K. is recognized by the Kuwait Ministry of Education. [1]
