The Madison Street Inn B&B is located in Santa Clara, Calif., one mile from Santa Clara University. The Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum, Heritage Rose Garden, San Jose Arena and Paramount Great America are within five miles of the bed and breakfast.This Victorian inn, which has operated as a bed and breakfast for 20 years, is positioned on one-third of one acre. Complimentary breakfasts, often featuring fresh-picked fruits and herbs, are served under cascading bougainvillea flowers in the inn's garden. The house contains a parlor with an original chair and sofa set by George Gellaff, a, talented 19th-century furniture maker. The inn's hardwood floors are made of vertical grain redwood. The dining room features a china cabinet built by the innkeeper, and two ports for high-speed Internet access. An in-ground pool, accompanying spa tub, fountain and fire pit are located in the backyard. A variety of packages are available for purchase at the front desk.The Madison Street Inn B&B offers functional guestrooms furnished with coordinating comforters, sheets and wall treatments. Antique wardrobes and desks are showcased in most rooms. The Fremont and Jefferson Rooms share a bathroom, and include in-room pedestal sinks. All rooms feature central air-conditioning. Accommodations are equipped with cable television.
