Valdosta High plays its home games at Bazemore-Hyder Stadium located in scenic downtown Valdosta. The official school mascot is the "wildcat". Their cross-town rivals in athletics are the Lowndes vikings who have won state championships in football in 1980, 1999, 2000, 2004, 2005,and 2007.
