Sears Centre is an 11,000-seat multi-purpose family entertainment, cultural and sports center in Hoffman Estates , Illinois, a suburb of Chicago . Sears Centre hosts more than 1,335 events each year, attracting more than 9,750,000 visitors annually. The center is home to the Chicago Storm (Xtreme Soccer League), and the Chicago Slaughter (Continental Indoor Football League). In the fall of 2009, the Sears Centre will host the Chicago Bliss of the Lingerie Football League. It was home to the Chicago Hounds of the United Hockey League during their one and only season in 2006-2007, as well as the Chicago Shamrox of the National Lacrosse League for two seasons from 2007-08. The Shamrox stated they only suspended operations.The venue opened on October 26, 2006, with performances by Duran Duran and Bob Dylan.The International Fight League held one of its cards there on May 19, 2007. lThe Sears Centre hosted the 4th annual TNA Bound for Glory Professional wrestling pay-per-view event on October 12 2008, which was TNA s first ever PPV in Chicago...The Sears Centre also hosted the inaugural University of Notre Dame Shilelagh Hockey Tournament on January 2 and 3, 2009.The Sears Centre is located near the former site of the Poplar Creek Music Theater, a venue that was also located in Hoffman Estates from 1980 to 1994.Other big name artists including Killers , Billy Joel, Matchbox Twenty, Gary Graham (Chicago Hounds National Anthem Singer), Lionel Richie and The Eagles have performed at the Sears Centre. Starting in 2009, the Sears Centre Arena will also become the home of the Heartland International Tattoo, one of the largest music ; dance festivals of its kind in the Midwest.The Sears Centre is also home to Levy Restaurants, which proudly serves hot dogs, hamburgers, nachos, pizza and soda.[1]
