Myles Standish State Forest is a Department of Conservation and Recreation state forest located in the towns of Plymouth and Carver in southeastern Massachusetts, approximately 45 miles (70 km) south of Boston .The landscape of MSSF is largely that of a pitch pine and scrub oak forest surrounding 16 lakes and ponds.Recreationally, MSSF offers camping, swimming, fishing, kayaking, canoeing and picnicking, fifteen miles (24 km) of paved bicycle trail s, thirty-five miles (56 km) of horse trail s and thirteen miles (21 km) of hiking trail s. The forest is home to Cachalot Scout Reservation , an 880-acre Boy Scout camp. Camp Squanto is also located within Myles Standish State Forest. Camp Wind in the Pines (a girl scout camp) is located within and next to Myles Standish State Forest. [1]
