Enfield Shaker Museum is based on the Shakers, a Protestant religious denomination. It presents a restored Shaker village and is located in a valley between Mount Assurance and Mascoma Lake, in Enfield , New Hampshire, USA.Enfield has been a Shaker site since 1793. It was at its peak in the mid 19th century. The Shaker community practiced equality of the sexes and races, celibacy, pacifism and communal ownership of property. At Enfield, they farmed over 3000 acre of land and followed the Shaker tradition, as presented by the Enfield Shaker Museum.The museums collection includes Shaker furniture, tools, clothing, photographs, and agricultural implements. The museum also has a herb garden.The site is listed on the US National Register of Historic Places. It is possible to stay overnight.[1]
