Whitmer Senior High School opened in 1927 in the current Jefferson building. In 1960, the current Whitmer building opened. In 1976, the Whitmer Vocational Building (now Career Technology Center (CTC) opened. Whitmer High school is said to be haunted. During the Halloween season a pumpkin is placed on top of the steaple of Jefferson Jr. High (the old whitmer building). It is said that the pumpkin is placed there by an old janitor that died during the original construction of Jefferson. However, the most promenent experience with ghostly haunting comes from Oscar. Oscar haunts Whitmer's auditorium and has been seen wandering the catwalks above the stage. He is said to be harmless however, when a show isn't how he wants it he makes his presence known. [1]
