Q. When was the school founded? A. Roots School System RSS was founded on 10th April 1988 at Harley Street, Rawalpindi, Pakistan.

Q. Who was the founder of Roots School System? A. Roots School System was founded by Mrs. Riffat Mushtaq (Aizaz-e-Fzeelat), a dedicated and committed teacher fired with enthusiasm and missionary spirit in the field of education. She took the challenge of introducing modern Methodology of child centered teaching, creativity, puppetry and group interaction. In the formative years she introduced the International Montessori Method of education. Roots is the pioneer institution in having introduced an exclusive Montessori in the twin cities of Rawalpindi & Islamabad and brought awareness about this method of teaching nationwide.

Q. What does the Roots Logo Mean? A. Roots logo means: Nurturing strong roots to help blossom a flower. This is in context of a child.

Q. Which level or qualifications does the Roots School System offer? A. Roots School System RSS offers continuous education from Montessori to undergraduate level. Roots School System is the only school in Pakistan offering continuous education, where the child enters the exclusive Roots Thematic Montessori, progresses through to Roots Junior School and feels the thrill of success through Roots College International.

Q. What about Roots Thematic Montessori RTM? A. Roots Thematic Montessori RTM offers the child an early environment to adapt to learning by the Montessori method of education. The child learns without knowing that he/she is learning with support of dedicated and qualified Montessori directresses, Montessori apparatus, EPL exercises, the prepared environment, comprehensive roots early learning resources, apparatus and activities, specially designed curriculum and reading programmes to help boast the child’s foundation with a strong start.

Q. What about Roots Junior School RJS? A. Roots Junior School RJS offers the student academic progression straight from class 1 to class 5. The School programme is based on assessments and evaluations together with re-inforcement and overall development of students supported by the comprehensive Roots Junior School curriculum researched and reviewed annually by the department of Quality, Curriculum, Teaching & Standards Monitoring.

Q. What are the school timings? A. The normal school timings are from between 8:00am to 2:00pm. However some cities and Roots campuses may have staggered timings for the convenience of parents, students, communities and on request of local city or district council. Q. What is the Roots School System mission statement? A. Roots aim is to bring out the best in a child mentally, intellectually, spiritually, physically and culturally by developing the attitudes, abilities and skills in the students required to meet the Global Challenges through inter-cultural learning, by inspiring them to shape a world based on justice, solidarity, liberty, dignity, harmony and prosperity for all. Q. I have not done my ‘O’ levels or IGCSE levels, Can I still Join ‘AS’ & ‘A’ level after passing my Matriculation Examination through a local board? A. Yes, All matriculation students are eligible for admission into the ‘AS’ & ‘A’ level scheme of studies at all RCI campuses. (Please see grades and eligibility criteria)

Q. I have achieved excellent grades in my ‘O’ & IGCSE level examination, Can I get a scholarship for ‘AS’ & ‘A’ levels? A. Yes, ‘Roots High Flyer Scholarship Programme’ RHFSP is sponsored by the Founder Director and is subject to following conditions

Full Scholarship is awarded to a student securing St. 9 A’s in ‘O’ or IGCSE level 50% Scholarship is awarded to a student securing St. 8 A’s in ‘O’ or IGCSE level
